Coming shortly – an event the Centro Cultural de Belem, to commemorate key dates related to the First World War period, on 9th October at 18.00, in the Sala de Mello Breyner Andresen. A debate will be held to discuss the end of Great War (1918-2018) and the Republic that followed.

Elísio Summavielle, President of the Centro Cultural de Belem Foundation, will be the moderator. Key guests are Fernando Catroga (Retired Professor from the Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra); Fernando Rosas(Professor from the Faculdade de Ciências Socias e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa); António Ventura (Professor of the Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa); Maria Fernanda Rollo (Secretary of State for Science, Technology and Further Education)
The next day, on 10th 2October at 21.00 in the Grande Auditório, a film and a Concert are programmed. An extraordinary films by Joshua Benoliel will be shown, followed by a musical piece composed by Luís de Freitas Branco, which will be played by the Melleo Harmonia Orchestra.
