Battle of Vimeiro Interpretation Centre

After extensive renovation, the Battle of Vimeiro Interpretation Centre re-opened on February 29th.

The Centre is now wheelchair-friendly. The quality of the display has been improved considerably, with easy-to-read explanations in Portuguese and English.  Hi-tech audio guides are also available, which start to play when you reach a new exhibit. There are three rooms that can be visited in any order: (1) on the Peninsular War; (2) on the life of the soldiers, which includes examples of the weapons used, and (3) on the Battle of Vimeiro itself. There is also a meeting room, which shows  a film about the Peninsular War and Vimeiro.

The staff are very helpful and a visit is highly recommended.
