For the first time in history the Society held its Annual General Meeting virtually via Zoom. 34 Members attended: 19 ‘in person’ and the remainder by proxy.

Dr. Filipe Lowndes Marques kindly chaired the AGM again for 2020. He opened the meeting at 12.05 by handing the floor to the Society’s Chairman, Edward Godfrey, who gave a brief description of the last year, which had been successful in terms of the accounts and the number of events held.

Dr. Lowndes Marques then proceeded to follow the Agenda and the first three points related to the approval of the Chairman's report, the Accounts, and the members of the Council for the next three years were all approved unanimously. Under Any Other Business, a question was raised regarding the funds put on deposit, to which the Chairman of the Society and Treasurer replied that the decision had been made to place funds on deposit to avoid any risk from hackers, even though the interest paid was so insignificant that it was not worth recording in the Accounts.
