Redcoat History: Podcasts on the Peninsular War

Redcoat History is a podcast and YouTube channel dedicated to the study of British military history. It is currently in its third season and is now analysing in great depth the history of the Peninsular War in Portugal, Spain and the south of France from 1808 -1814, which was arguably the British army's greatest campaign. Each month there is a new episode following the course of events, examining the battles, and learning all about the key characters.

The latest podcast is a special episode to mark the 210th anniversary of the Battle of Albuera - one of the bloodiest and most controversial battles of the Peninsular War.

Host Christian Parkinson is joined by historians Mark Thompson (author of “Albuera. The Fatal Hill”), Marcus de la Poer Beresford (author of a recently-published biography on “Marshal William Carr Beresford”), and Marcus Cribb (Manager of Apsley House) for a full and frank debate about all aspects of the battle.
