Our Chairman, Edward Godfrey, received his British Empire Medal (BEM) from Ambassador Lisa Bandari at the Ambassador's official residence on 12 August. Both the ambassador and Edward made brief speeches, with Ms. Bandari highlighting not only Edward's work with the Society and with St. George's Church and cemetery but also her personal gratitude to him for the assistance he provided her after her arrival.
A small group of colleagues from the Society and the Church then celebrated the award with British "champagne".
