Originally called Churchill’s Mouthpiece in Europe still going strong 50 years on, this article by Susan Lowndes Marques was published in the Golden Jubilee Commemorative Souvenir issue of the Anglo-Portuguese News, on 20 February 1987. Susan was the co-editor with her husband, Luiz, for most of the first 40 years of its existence, and sole editor for five years after his death, when she sold the paper to Nigel Batley.
