Historical links between Portugal and England

Excerpt:

Portuguese-English history is, most of all, a history of friendship. It's a tale of two clever nations that, since the XIV century, have been well aware of their maritime choice and of their need to cooperate. Together they learnt how to fight for their common interests, needs and objectives.

Illustration: The Treaty of Windsor was signed between Portugal and England on 9 May 1386 at Windsor and sealed by the marriage of King John I of Portugal and Philippa of Lancaster, daughter of John of Gaunt, 1st Duke of Lancaster.
