One of objects of the British Historical Society of Portugal is the study of the shared history of Portugal and Great Britain and its diffusion, as well as the organization of visits. Since its inception in 1974, the Society has gained a reputation as a leading source of research and information on the Peninsular War, and it helped the author retrace the history of his ancestor during this war.
