This detailed timeline begins in 1147 with the English Crusaders who embarked at Dartmouth on their way to what was later known as the 2nd Crusade, and were persuaded by the Bishop of Oporto to help the young Portuguese King D. Afonso Henriques in the conquest of Lisbon from the Moors. The full timeline is in the 2017 Annual Report, copies of which are still available, or it can be seen by clicking on ANGLO PORTUGUESE RELATIONS, above.
