Programme: After welcome refreshments before the gala lunch there will be a talk with the title 'Erdmann Neuparth. Music in war, The Peninsular War in music and the history of a military musician' by Dr. Maria João Albuquerque, PhD. After lunch, we will be privileged to hear another talk on the same period by General Rui Moura, O.A. on the 'The life of General Pamplona', a Portuguese aristocrat who fought for Napoleon during the Peninsular War and was on Marshall Masséna's staff during the French Invasion of Portugal, his home country, in 1810, and yet eventually became a M.P. (1821-1822) and Prime Minister of Portugal (1823-1825).

Lunch: A three course buffet with drinks and coffe will be served at the restaurant of the Hotel Riviera, Carcavelos

 

Price: Price: €30.00 (€5 extra for non-Members)

 

 

Transport: Members and their guests are expected to make their own way to the hotel - where free parking is available in front of the hotel and there is paid parking in the shopping centre behind it.
