Many congratulations to our member Major Nick Hallidie, who has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List of 2020.
The List was released on the 10th of October, having been delayed because of the Pandemic.
Nick has been the driving force of the Friends of the British Cemetery, Elvas since its inception in 1996 and has been the Chairman since then. |
He has worked tirelessly as a volunteer to raise funds to restore not only the beautiful cemetery in Elvas but also the chapel of São João da Corujeira. His efforts, together with those of many others, have brought together communities in Portugal, Spain, Great Britain and Ireland.
