The article was published on the 200th anniversary of Tennyson’s birth and the 150th anniversary of his visit to Portugal and briefly describes the poet’s visits to Lisbon and Sintra and the people he met, including the Duke of Saldanha who had fought with Wellington 50 years earlier.
