Guided Tour of the Exhibition "Pintura Espanhola em Portugal"

Day and Time: Saturday, 24 February at 11.30. We shall meet at the museum entrance no later than 11.20.

Location: MNAA - Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga, R. das Janelas Verdes, 1249-017, Lisbon. Parking is extremely difficult in this area. Participants are advised to use public transport. Santos station is about 12 minutes’ walk away.

The Exhibition: In total, the exhibition contains 83 works from between the 14th and the 20th centuries that are held in Portuguese collections. Painters such as Zurbarán, Velásquez and Pantoja de la Cruz are represented.

The tour will be conducted by a specialist guide in English and will last approximately one and a quarter hours.

Security: Participants are advised that for security reasons back packs, bags, umbrellas, etc. must be left in the cloakroom. Ladies’ handbags may be taken into the exhibition but are subject to security screening. Bottles of water and other liquids may not be taken into the exhibition.

Price: €10 payable on the day

Lunch: participants may wish to lunch at the museum’s well-known cafeteria-style restaurant with splendid views overlooking the Tagus. Alternatively, there are several restaurants and cafés in the area.

Booking: please send an e-mail to library@bhsportugal.org to reserve your place. Given space constraints, there is room for only 20 participants and thus, regrettably, this event will be for members only. If you book but are unable to attend, please inform the Society as early as possible so that others can participate.
