Annual General Meeting, lunch and tour of the Tropical Botanical Garden in Belém

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Society will be held on Saturday 28^th June, in Belém, where Mrs Isabel Lowndes Marques has very kindly invited us to her home for the meeting and lunch. Beforehand, member Gerald Luckhurst will guide us on a tour of the nearby Tropical Botanical Garden.

Programme:

11.30: Departure of the bus to take members from near the north entrance of the Estoril Casino to the Tropical Botanical Garden in Belém

12.00: Meet for the tour of the Botanical Garden at the main entrance - Calçada do Galvão No. 5

12.55: Deadline for those who don't plan to join the tour of the garden to meet the rest of the group at the entrance of the Botanical Garden

13.00: Buffet Lunch at the home of Mrs Isabel Lowndes Marques

14.30: First call for the AGM

15.00: Annual General Meeting, chaired by Dr. Filipe Lowndes Marques

• Presentation of the Report & Accounts for 2024 by Edward Godfrey, the Society’s Chair
• Discussion and approval of the Accounts and the Annual Report
• Any other business (members can register suggestions on the proxy form)

15.30: Scheduled departure of the bus to return to Estoril (ETA at the Casino -16.00)

Note: If you are unavoidably delayed, the address of the house of Isabel Lowndes Marques is Calçada do Galvão, Nº 23. The bus to Estoril will leave from there.

* The price will be €20 pp. with bus and €10 pp. without the bus. The event is fully booked and is for members only, as it is the AGM. Please ensure that your phone number is correctly recorded on the Society’s online system.
